SUMMARY:Rollin on the River - Hidden Meadows Tour
DESCRIPTION:This 10 acre lake was once the site in 1838 of a detainment camp that held 3\,000 North Carolina Cherokees during the Trail of Tears Removal.&nbsp\; The Hidden Meadows contains an abundance of wildlife\, crystal clear spring fed waters\, and trees estimated to be 250 years old.&nbsp\; The site is reached from the Hiwassee via a series of tunnels and channels.&nbsp\; Participants must have an approved life vest and paddle.&nbsp\; A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available along with life vests for those who do not have their own.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;10:00 AM Tour Led by Joe Guy- McMinn County Sheriff and Historian12:00 PM Tour Led by Joe Guy- McMinn County Sheriff and Historian2:00 PM Tour Led by Calhoun Historians Laura Spann and Joe Bryan
